More and more consumers demand faster Internet access. With Asymmetric or Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line "DSL Service,"
Pierce Telephone Company, Inc. can turbo-charge your online and Internet sessions. DSL is a technology used for bringing
high-bandwidth information to homes and businesses over ordinary copper telephone lines, allowing both voice and data traffic
to be transmitted over the same circuit. Speeds typically range from 384 Kbps to 10 Mbps downstream, and from 384 Kbps to 1 Mbps
upstream. Speeds vary depending on customer owned equipment, service location, and service plan. DSL data connections do not
require "dialing in", as they are continuously connected to the Internet.
Once we link your personal computer to the Internet with our DSL Service, you will experience online and corporate services at
lightning-quick speeds, saving time, gaining productivity by eliminating significant waits for data and web pages to be delivered.
New multimedia applications are now feasible. Best of all, you do not need an additional line to your home because it uses the
same existing wiring that is in place today.
Pierce Telephone is proud to offer this high-speed, low-cost, broadband data transport services to you.

Pierce Telephone will be responsible for all equipment and testing to provide connectivity of the high-speed digital
service from our office to the customer's demarcation location.
Pierce Telephone may find that an individual location, due to distance, line condition, or other factors may not be served
with high speed Internet service. Pierce Telephone may in its sole discretion, delay or refuse to provide high speed
internet service to a specific location due to lack of equipment and cost of providing such service.
Any repair to customer owned equipment or testing for problems found to be caused by customer owned equipment or cabling
will be billed to the customer at the rate of $45.00 per hour per technician.
User is responsible for cabling, beyond the demarcation point, that is compatible with the service provided. We do
offer this cabling if requested, billed on a time and material basis.
If a user subscribes to Pierce Telephones' inside wire maintenance agreement, the agreement does include the high speed
internet connection wiring within a premise.
User can install all internal customer owned equipment or arrange with a computer service and repair company to have such
equipment installed, or we will install it at your request.
User shall be responsible for all CPU software programming installations and changes of equipment, internal and external.
Pierce Telephone can not guarantee final access speeds of the high speed Internet service due to factors including, but not

filters may be purchased from Pierce Telephone.
Filters installed will become the property of the customer, any replacement filters or additional filters will be the
responsibility of the customer and the customer will need to purchase them. Installation by Pierce Telephone of more than the
original filters will be billed at the hourly rate.
DSL Modem -- purchase price @ $99.00 with one year committment. Monthly rental @ $10
Pierce Telephone recommends all customers use quality surge protection or UPS (uninterrupted power supply) that will protect phone lines, as well as multiple AC power protected outlets to protect your modem, monitor, printer, etc. Please review the manufacturers warranty, installation instructions and follow them carefully.
Pierce Telephone also strongly recommends that all customers use firewall software, hardware, or both, for security purposes. A computer firewall is designed to protect a customer's computer system from unauthorized access, particularly from the "outside" world when connected to the Internet. Computer firewalls are not necessarily designed to protect a computer from other potential threats, such as computer viruses, worms or trojan horses.

Speeds typically range from 384 Kbps to 10 Mbps downstream, and from 128 Kbps to 852 Kbps upstream. Speeds vary
depending on customer owned equipment, service location, and service plan.
The speed is much greater than a traditional dial-up modem. In addition, Pierce Telephone Internet via DSL is
always on so there is no need to "dial-up" your Internet provider. DSL also eliminates the need for an additional
"computer line" to your house. With DSL, you can talk on the phone and use the Internet (at high speed) at the
same time.
No, Pierce Telephone will use one of your existing lines.
Yes, even though DSL uses your existing telephone line, DSL operates on a different frequency than your voice call.
Your computer will need a standard Ethernet card (approximately $40) installed. Pierce Telephone will provide the DSL "modem"
for rent or purchase that is necessary to receive DSL service . If extended DSL service is required, a one-time line-conditioning
fee applies. The equipment replaces the current box on the outside of your home or office.
Yes, if the computers are already part of a network, each of the computers can share the DSL connection. We strongly suggest firewall software, or hardware, for security purposes. If a network is not present - one can be installed with additional equipment.
